Inhabit in movement: The case of mobile digital workers in Lima (Peru)

In the last decade, there has been an exponential increase in the delivery services of apps in the cities of Latin America, which has involved challenges for urban studies. This paper contributes to the research focused on the labor conditions of digital mobile workers within an approach that addresses the new forms of urban inhabit produced by these actors. From a case study of Lima (Peru) and an ethnographic approach, the connector role that the deliveries made for an area with a high concentration of financial activities is identified. It is argued that the ways of inhabiting are produced in contexts of vulnerability, emphasizing that the municipality controls the public space. It is concluded by highlighting the importance of inhabits experiences as an analytical dimension of the labor practices of digital mobile workers.
