Making authority developmental: Line managers as talent developers in Peruvian organizations.

Anna Mella · Hoyos Vallejo, Carlos Arturo

Resumen

What's It Mean? Implications for Consulting PsychologyThis study shows that line managers become effective talent developers not simply by applying human resource tools but by making authority credible, accessible, and useful for employee growth. For consulting psychologists, the findings suggest that leadership-development interventions should address talent-developer identity, relational credibility, trust building, developmental delegation, feedback routines, and everyday role modeling together. In contexts where formal authority and relational expectations coexist, consultants can help managers turn authority into access, voice, learning, visibility, and responsibility.
