La tesis de maestría en educación: una experiencia de graduación oportuna

In Latin America, higher education continues to be expensive and in the minority. Despite increases in access, the opportunity to graduate makes an additional difference for countries development and graduate’s’ future. According to the World Bank, for the year 2013, only half of the young people between the ages of 25 and 29, who enroll in university, graduate in the region. The article analyzes the training proposal of a master's program in education that shows high average and timely graduation rates above the average in Latin America. The systematization of experiences is used as a methodological strategy supported by documentary information and testimonies of graduates, teachers, and managers of a private university in Peru for the period 2011 - 2020. Documentary analysis, qualitative survey, interviews, and focal interviews are applied. The results show a thesis preparation route that synergistically articulates management activities and research training to achieve timely graduation rates. This route serves as a guideline and support for the work of the thesis student, the teacher-advisor, and the direction of the program.
