N2 - The use of generative artificial intelligence has been increasing in recent times. This technology is used to create different types of content from multiple sources of information. The content that generative AI provides to its users can be highly reliable if trained with real data and verified sources. The area of Computer Science is no exception, and there are some approaches to using generative artificial intelligence as a support tool in several phases of the software construction process. This research study discusses how generative artificial intelligence can be used within the User-Centered Design process to develop graphical interfaces. In this study, we present a set of available tools that can be used for the phases: (1) analysis of the context of use, (2) definition of requirements, and (3) elaboration of solution proposals in a software development scenario. Likewise, we present some examples of applying the identified tools developed in the academic field. Through the results, we show what the technology is capable of and offer academia a space to analyze the possibilities for the future. The discussions and conclusions are presented, as well as the possible works derived from this first approach to applying artificial intelligence in the design of graphical software interfaces.
