N2 - In Peru, respiratory diseases, particularly pneumonia, are highly prevalent, with a notably prevalence in rural areas where the limited availability of specialized medical personnel hinders early diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Early detection and proper assessment are critical for improving patient outcomes, yet access to reliable diagnostic tools remains a challenge in these underserved regions. In this work, an assistive device is developed to automate the pressure applied by the linear ultrasound transducer, using image parameters to control the force exerted on the body. The device is compatible with a Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) methodology, which involves capturing images in a point-by-point manner for immediate assessment. UltraScan-S aims to enhance the quality of images obtained at specific points, ensuring a more accurate diagnosis. The results demonstrate that UltraScan-S enables the acquisition of images by maintaining the proper balance between image quality and the applied force on the skin, with a maximum force of 20 N, ensuring it is not harmful.
