THE WEAVING AS AN INTEGRAL EXPRESSION OF THE WORLD OF THE ACCHAHUATA WOMAN IN THE REGION OF CUSCO, PERU

This study reviews from an intercultural perspective the practice of weaving as an integral expression of women in the high Andean community of Acchahuata in the province of Calca, Cuzco region. This work is based on a qualitative approach under the interpretative paradigm and a non-experimental design. For this purpose, semi-structured interviews were conducted with ten women weavers. The Atlas ti 7 program was used to code and categorize the informants. The result of their representational networks showed that weaving is understood as an integral, complex act with a high connection to the sensitive world. The study concludes that the strength of generational education, the existence of the Andean social order, respect for the ancestors, and the practice of weaving continue to set the tone among Andean dialogues and teachings. In this way, weaving is a notebook open to other generations, showing and sharing the designs and meaning of weaving as a book of the social history of Acchahuata women; however, this has been combined with a resistance to westernization and a capitalist perspective that sees weaving as just another form of commerce without transmission of social values.
