Resumen
This essay analyzes the final phase of the Inquisition in Peru. It discusses the suppression ordered by the Cortes de Cádiz and shows the importance of the dissemination of anti-inquisitorial literature during the government of Viceroy Abascal. Although the Tribunal of Lima stayed active during the crisis of the Monarchy, it was unable to face the challenge of what would prove to be the great legacy of the period: The Black Legend of the Spanish Inquisition.
