Resumen
An attempt is made to show that a selective interaction can be useful for implementing quantum logic schemes in trapped ions and in the domain of CQED. In particular, a proposal is given for implementing a QPG with a single pulse of a selective interaction in these two systems. In both cases, the schemes reduce significantly the number of steps required for the gate operation.
