Resumen
This study is a psychological diagnosis of some aspects related to organizational problems within a rural community from the Peruvian northern coast. To accomplish this objective, a qualitative research was elaborated. The main community problems were inquired through collective and individual interviews. Results showed that social community agents were unable to develop tasks demanding coordinated social interactions among them. Lack of organization was a consequence of a history of failures in cooperative efforts that have negatively affected the social identity and the emotional climate -expressed in a strong climate of distrust-of its inhabitants. This situation has promoted the social dislocation and enhanced a set of individualistic social and productive practices that affect several social and public goods, mitigating quality of life of the community settlers.
