Resumen
The psychometric properties of the Self Compassion Scale (SCS) were studied in a sample of 315 Medicine students in Peru (Female = 58%, Male = 42%). Several exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were needed in order to describe the internal structure of the scale. Results showed that it was possible to reproduce the six-factor structure of the SCS proposed by the author (Neff, 2003). Evidences of reliability and validity were considered acceptable. Results also showed suitable convergent and discriminant validity. Finally, limitations and recommendations of the study were discussed.
