Resumen
We study the population trapping phenomenon for the one-photon mazer. With this intent, the mazer theory is written using the dressed-state coordinate formalism, simplifying the expressions for the atomic populations, the cavity photon statistics, and the reflection and transmission probabilities. Under the population trapping condition, evidence for new properties of the atomic scattering is given. Experimental issues and possible applications are discussed. © 2003 Elsevier Science B.V.
