Resumen

A short introduction to the ideas and approaches of Jose Carlos Mariategui, founder of Peruvian and «indoamerican socialism», in matters of education in Latin America. Within the militant Marxism tradition, Mariategui relates the understanding of educational crisis in the continent to its particular social and economical evolution, in addition to the class dynamic around the state power. Mariategui sets out these crisis characteristics in public educational organization, in the contents, in the methods, in teacher's situation and in the universitary reform movement actions, both linked to the educational renovating movements in contemporary Europe and Spanish America, caused by the global crisis in the poswar world at the beginning of the XXth century. Mariategui assumed his political and controversy practice as a life teaching.
