Resumen
A novel methodology to automatically segment all the walls present in M-mode echocardiography images in order to determine the ventricular chamber dimensions and wall thickness is proposed using Amplitude-Modulation Frequency Modulation (AM-FM) demodulation techniques. Preliminary results show method's capability to segment the Left Ventricular Posterior wall and the left ventricular side of the Interventricular Septum. Using these results three measurements are possible: Left Ventricular Posterior Wall (LVPW) thickness, Left Ventricular Dimension (LVDD) at end-diastole and Left Ventricular dimension (LVSD) at end-systole.
