Resumen
The legend on the passage of St. Thomas the Apostle in America was one of the consequences of the reorganization of the world view of the time, which had been disrupted by the emergence of a New World. His appearance in Calderón's La aurora en Copacabana, as this article shows, is the appropriation by the playwright of this legend to delegitimize the religion of the Incas, which was not a corrupt form of Christianity, but pure idolatry that should be exterminated.
