Interpreter and development environment for learning structured programming languages

The main purpose of this Project was to design and develop an interpreter and an integrated development environment that could be used for teaching in introductory courses of programming. The IDE would assist the programmer offering a friendly and proper environment as well as a programming languague in spanish. The goal of these tools is to help the user to understand the fundamentals of programming, to acquire good programming habits and to learn to solve problems without feeling the barrier language, hence improving the understanding and abstraction of the programmer over the problem. Our work considers crucial pedagogical aspects like meaningfull reserved words which are easy to learn and remember; a small instruction set that has, nevertheless, flexible semantics; a simple and straightforward sintax and some other features that guide the development process. This work was developed in Java platform using windows called frames and it can be ported easily to applet applications for its future use in web environments.
