HACIA UNA FENOMENOLOGÍA DE LA ANIMACIÓN PARA LA INVESTIGACIÓN INTERDISCIPLINARIA

Phenomenology has enriched film studies through the work of Christian Metz, Gilles Deleuze and Vivian Sobchack among others, but its descriptive methodology can also contribute with animation research. In this text we analyze phenomenologically the experience of watching an animated narrative in order to bring to light the a priori structures and dynamics in which animation makes sense. We will delve into the particular attitude of the subject that allows immersion in the animated narrative world, which assumes an intersubjective dimension that articulates a personal growth process with cultural practices oriented by expectations of encounter and recognition typical of contemporary communication. This phenomenological description allows us to understand the value that the audience find in animated stories. The essay also exposes the assumptions that underlie animation studies from their own theoretical frameworks and methodologies. It therefore offers a primary guidance for systematizing and strengthening interdisciplinary research.
