N2 - Ensuring software quality remains a challenge across public and private sectors in Latin America. The ISO/IEC 25000 series (SQuaRE) offers a structured framework for evaluating software based on attributes such as reliability, usability, and maintainability. This study presents an empirical analysis of ten case studies-five public and five private sector implementations-highlighting key metrics, evaluation methods, and outcomes. Findings show that adopting ISO/IEC 25000 enhances software efficiency, reduces failures, and lowers maintenance costs. A cost-benefit analysis confirms the value of early adoption, while expert validation ensures methodological reliability. The study also identifies opportunities for applying the standard to emerging technologies such as AI and Blockchain, reinforcing its relevance in evolving digital ecosystems.
