Evaluación Heurística Remota de un Prototipo para el Website del US Department of Labor usando DUXAIT-NG: Una Nueva Herramienta en Acción

In the context of a UX redesign experience, the US Department of Labor was chosen as a project to analyze its pain points and redesign. All stages of the assigned redesign were concluded, including the evaluation stage. Likewise, in a validation iteration of the results, it was proposed to quantitatively obtain the level of usability of the prototype. For this purpose, the Granollers heuristic evaluation method was selected. In this sense, a unified process that supports the entire UX evaluation was proposed previously, and the DUXAIT-NG tool was released. Then, a case study was carried out where the remote heuristic evaluation was planned, a team of 4 expert evaluators interacted with the redesign, and finally, the results were analyzed. All these activities were performed within the DUXAIT NG tool. This tool not only proved to provide adequate support to the whole evaluation process but also provided an advantage compared to the manual application of the evaluation. Finally, according to the Granollers method, the website redesign obtained an 83.31% usability level. With these results, the usability of the proposal made by the team that carried out the redesign was validated. In addition, the team obtained important insights from analyzing the evaluators’ reports.
