Resumen

The objective of this preliminary work was to determine the concentration of PM2.5, PM10, CO and CO2 to verify indoor air quality using natural gas in a preliminary group of domestic kitchens. At the same time, the power and thermal efficiency of the kitchens were determined according to the type of burner that they were installed in the different kitchens. In Peru, the burner powers in the kitchens used have not been identified. Additionally, the temperature of the place and the relative humidity were measured. The methodology used was to monitor concentrations and gases using appropriate instrumentation when the domestic kitchen was in operation. For the calculation of energy efficiency, the methodology of the technical standard NTE INEN 2259: 2013 was used for household appliances for cooking, which use gaseous fuels. The results show that the concentrations of PM2.5, PM10, CO and CO2 at all times remained within the range of permissible limits for indoor environments and the powers of the burners in domestic kitchens were identified and that the average thermal energy of the kitchens tested was around 47%.
