EL SILENCIO DE LAS VÍCTIMAS DE ABUSO EN ENTORNO ECLESIAL. ANÁLISIS A PARTIR DEL CASO PERUANO

Unlike what happens in other countries, in Peru, except for the Sodalitium case, almost no victim of abuse of conscience and sexual, in ecclesial settings, has publicly denounced the facts. This article aims to analyze the reasons for this silence. To the universal elements that correspond to psychological trauma and the organization of the ecclesial institution, social and cultural factors, related to corruption in the civil justice system, machismo, tolerance of violence and sexual assault and material precariousness, have to be added. From a theological point of view, certain images of God latent in official doctrine and very present in popular devotions, in particular, the representations of an almighty wizard God and his Son sacrificed at his request, reinforce an unhealthy clericalism that divinizes the priest and an acceptance of suffering, valued as a safe conduct to Heaven.
