Resumen
This paper shows the results of DVB-S2 standard evaluation to provide broadband fixed internet services in Peru, using Ka Band High Throughput Satellite. We perform predictive calculation for rain attenuation rates by mathematical models of recommendations P.618-9, P.838-6, P.837-3 from ITU, in order to identify the rain attenuation rates per city. Then, these results are used as input data for development of link budgets, in which the modulation schemes and existing coding from DVB-S2 standard are evaluated, resulting availability levels by each city, and the modulation and coding guidelines to consider in ground equipment, compared to rainy conditions.
