Resumen
The dispersion curves for the convective instability of chlorite-tetrathionate (CT) fronts in Hele-Shaw cells with experimental data was compared. The dispersion curves were computed using four different models resulting from Darcy's law or Brinkman's equation. Assumptions were made by the theoretical approach imposing that the ratio of diffusivities of the two main species δ=1 and that heat effects could be incorporated using a total density jump δ ρ and also incorporating the heat contribution δ ρT. The quantitative characteristics of the convective instability of chemical fronts in hele-Shaw cells were also required to understand in detail.
