Resumen
Component removal in revision total hip arthroplasty (THA) can be a time-consuming and arduous task. Through good preoperative planning, this stress can be minimized. The primary goal of implant removal is the preservation of host bone through a safe and efficient approach. Host bone loss can be minimized with the use of special tools and thorough knowledge of a variety of removal techniques. Proper selection of the most appropriate surgical approach can enable better reconstruction and therefore an enhanced patient outcome.
