Resumen
This article proposes optimizing the management of spare parts and lubricant orders in an automotive company using the DMAIC-Six Sigma methodology. The objective was to resolve difficulties in the preventive supply of these inputs for the after-sales service of trucks of a leading brand. During the diagnosis, inefficient wait times, transportation inconveniences, quality issues, repetitive processes, and difficulties in calculating adequate turnover were detected. Among the proposed solutions are the tabulation of sales and picks to forecast orders, transportation monitoring to adjust schedules, and training of logistics personnel to ensure optimal supply. In conclusion, the implementation of DMAIC-Six Sigma improved order accuracy, meeting demand within stipulated periods, reducing transportation downtime, and optimizing the use of human resources, which translates into higher annual revenues for the company.
