Resumen
In this study, we present research conducted in Peru involving the Beca 18 student population from the Ministry of Education, a social aid program provided by the Peruvian government to high-performing students in the country. The research aims to provide a psychometric approach to the Digital Competency Questionnaire in Higher Education (CDES) for this population, as well as its cross-cultural adaptation. The final sample size is large (N=10842), which allows for the examination and understanding of the relevance associated between the assessment provided by this specific group of higher education students on digital competencies when faced with a prior lack of financial resources. The conditions offer various interpretive readings. Ultimately, it is observed that the instrument is suitable and relevant for specific samples, with validation and cross-cultural translation data being confirmed. Furthermore, very high values of relevance and importance of digital competencies are observed, which are significantly linked to disadvantaged social conditions.
