Proyecto: Investigación

Detalles del proyecto

Descripción

We introduce the first session of the Pan-American Workshop on Machine Learning (PWML) to take place in the city of Cusco, Peru as part of the Andescon conference, a well-known and established conference in the area of technology and innovation. The date to be chosen is September 11th, 2024. Our vision is to create an environment where top active researchers from the American continent can interact and collaborate in the area of machine learning and artificial intelligence. AI/ML is an area of rapid development with projections to cover many areas in industry and government, especially in the area of military defense. Our objective is to bring in top scientists from different countries in the American continent to collaborate in solving very hard problems in AI/ML that are complex in nature and need great investment of funding and talent.

Objetivo General

Due to recent advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning, this new area of research and technology is quickly advancing and a need to create a collaborative community and network of scientists and researchers in Central and South America is imperative for encouraging and fostering technological advances in these countries while bringing together think-tank communities of and socio-economical development to Southern neighboring countries. Thus, a conference as the one being proposed is imperative for the development of a strong community of researchers in Central and Latin America to collaborate with researchers in the US.

Objetivos Especificos

Promoting Cutting-Edge Research: Facilitate discussions on the latest developments in machine learning with a special focus on areas such as computer vision, remote sensing, medical imaging, etc. Encouraging Pan-American Collaboration: Strengthen the ties between researchers, practitioners, and institutions across North, Central, and South America. Industry-Academia Bridge: Create a platform for industry leaders to interact with academic researchers, fostering real-world applications of theoretical research. Diverse Application Showcase: Highlight machine learning's versatility across various sectors, including healthcare, environmental monitoring, and technology.
