Reflections on the concept of “passion for a child”

This chapter will discuss the concept of “Passion for a Child” 1 developed by Alkolombre (2008) from her work with women experiencing reproductive disorders. In the author’s words, the passion for a child refers to “a particular destination of the desire for a child in women; (…) it is characterized by affective intensity within a narcissistic-passionate dimension” (Alkolombre, 2020, pp. 355).
