Between war and politics: National armies, military logistics and the (de)construction of the state during the Peru-Bolivian Confederation, 1836–1839

To consolidate the project of the Peru-Bolivian Confederation (1836-1839), the logistical needs regarding public administration by the State were fundamental. However, due to the declaration of war by Chile in 1836 and the military expeditions undertaken in 1837 and 1838, it was necessary to organize the mobilization of men, resources, and weapons for the functioning of the army. However, these needs were not always fully met, since the previous years framed in the Peruvian civil war generated counterproductive effects.
