Beaterios for daughters of the Indigenous elite and noble Indian donors of religious advocacies in the Viceroyalty of Peru, 16th-19th centuries

Although from the beginning of the colony there existed the Colleges of Caciques run by the Jesuits to educate the sons of the noble Indians, which operated one in Lima, El Príncipe, and the other in Cuzco, San Borja or El Sol, the question that must be asked is where the daughters of caciques were prepared who eventually, in the absence of male siblings, assumed the position of their fathers or married noble Indians or caciques of lineage.
