Resumen

Infusion pumps are widely used in clinical environments to deliver fluids and medications at controlled flow rates; therefore, their metrological performance directly impacts patient safety. International standards such as IEC 60601-2-24 establish accuracy requirements for infusion flow, highlighting the need for reliable calibration procedures. This paper presents the design and experimental validation of a semiautomatic calibration system for infusion pumps. The proposed system integrates a commercial volumetric infusion pump, precision balance, and a dedicated software tool for data acquisition and processing, enabling systematic evaluation of infusion. Experimental tests were conducted at nominal flow rates of 300 ~mL / h, 400 ~mL / h, and 500 ~mL / h, performing five independent measurements per test point. The obtained mean flow rates exhibited relative deviations of -3.63 %,-3.60 %, and - 5. 0 4 %, respectively, with respect to the programmed values. The results demonstrate that the proposed system enables repeatable flow measurements and allows verification of infusion pump performance within the pm 5 % accuracy limits established by IEC 60601-2-24.
