Resumen

The chapter examines how DSs might improve the efficiency of financial transactions (FT) and procedures. The efficiency, security, transparency, and cost-effectiveness of FT and processes could be increased with the use of distributed systems (DSs), such as supply chain (SC) and blockchain technology (BT). This chapter provides an overview of FT and procedures, including their definition, difficulties, and contemporary solutions. The chapter highlights the advantages of DSs in finance and offers illustrations of their use in several contexts, including payment processing, digital identity verification, SC finance, and insurance. These systems' implementation problems and shortcomings include scalability, interoperability, legal compliance, security, and user acceptance. This chapter offers a comprehensive review of the definition, traits, advantages, and use cases of BT and SC, with a focus on their applications in finance. The chapter also looks at potential paths and difficulties with applying DSs to finance. The chapter will be a helpful resource for researchers, programmers, and practitioners who are interested in using DSs to improve systems and processes. The chapter identifies these barriers and shows how to eliminate them so that these systems can be used to their full potential.
