El presente artículo es un estudio que pretende reconstruir, a partir de las pocas fuentes disponibles, el proceso de creación del lienzo Capitulación de Ayacucho del artista nacional Daniel Hernández, en el marco de las conmemoraciones del Centenario de la Batalla de Ayacucho en 1924.
