Resumen

This study presents a strategic and technological assessment for the commercialization of upper-limb myoelectric prostheses in the Latin American context, with Peru as the focal point. The research applies a structured technology surveillance and competitive intelligence methodology, including patent analysis, bibliometric review, and regulatory framework evaluation. The findings reveal a global technological concentration around EMG sensors and gesture recognition algorithms, with the market dominated by established international firms. However, opportunities have been identified for regional innovation, particularly in areas related to accessibility, customization, and anthropometric adaptation. Additionally, an analysis of local startups and academic initiatives highlights emerging capabilities despite limitations in scale and funding. The study emphasizes the importance of aligning product development with international standards and national regulatory requirements to facilitate market entry. It concludes that, through targeted strategies and compliance with technical norms, local enterprises can enhance their competitiveness in assistive medical technologies.
