Description

Global food systems need to be transformed to avoid further environmental degradation and guarantee the provisioning and consumption of nutritious food for humanity. To do so, it is often argued that food systems need to be less linear and more circular. However, what implies to be circular in agroforestry-based systems? And what trade-offs and synergies could be expected for the agroforestry-related SDGs when implementing interventions aimed to improve the circularity of agroforestry systems? This paper aims to cover these questions by using the SDGs framework with Peru and Colombia as case studies.
