Abstract
Project management in Information Technology (IT) has become a challenge for organizations. One way to deal with these types of challenges is to implement a project management office (PMO) as the entity responsible for ensuring that projects are successfully executed, meeting defined objectives. However, in the literature there are no complete proposals or frameworks that contemplate the most important criteria to consider implementing a PMO. This article proposes a flexible framework for the implementation of a PMO in an organization. The quantitative results of the objectives achieved with this implementation are also shown, which translate into the reduction of overruns and cost overruns in project deliveries.
