Abstract
The new social paradigms require that knowledge be diagnosed, managed and administered in order to achieve competitiveness within educational organizations. To this end, the purpose of this paper is to present the design of a knowledge management model for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the context of contemporary society. The work methodology is typical of special projects whose product is a model that was applied at the San Martin de Porres University of Peru. The design of the model and the main actions of its evaluation are offered in the institutional implantation itself.
