Abstract

In Peru, medical equipment management faces significant challenges due to the lack of a standardized and automated system, resulting in a reliance on manual processes that are prone to error, manipulation and corruption. This situation leads to increased cost resulting from equipment loss. Furthermore, it has a detrimental impact on patient care by impeding healthcare professionals timely access to the equipment. In order to overcome these challenges, an inventory management system using RFID technology is proposed to facilitate the management and monitoring of biomedical equipment in clinical areas of health centers in Peru.
