Abstract
Between 16°S and 19°S, the Subandean Zone is characterized by lateral variations in structural geometry and shortening directions. The construction of balanced maps leads to a suggested kinematic model of this frontal part of the chain. The final balanced map shows that the structuration of the Santa Cruz Bend involves strike-slip motions, sinistral in the north and dextral in the south. The intensity of these lateral displacements increases from the foreland to the Cordillera, where they can reach several tens of kilometres. There is an abridged English version. -English summary
