Abstract

This article examines the dynamics of subalternity and resistance in two Peruvian journalistic chronicles, which explore the construction of LGTBIQ+ gender identities in traditional media. The analysis addresses how media narratives perpetuate or challenge power structures. The main objective is to analyze how gender and sexual diversity issues are addressed in the chronicles of Gabriela Wiener and Luis Miranda, using thematic analysis as a methodology. This approach allows us to identify the underlying themes related to the marginalization and resistance strategies of the subjects portrayed. The results show the interaction between the reproduction of oppressed identities and the ways in which they challenge dominant discourses. The most relevant conclusion is that, despite the limitations imposed by a heteronormative media context, these journalistic chronicles act as tools for transformation and empowerment, offering new ways of understanding and making sexual diversity visible in society.
