Abstract

The ECORS-Pyrenees data are used to explain the structure of the upper part of the North-Pyrenean zone. The North Pyrenean frontal thrust is the main structure of this zone. It runs through the Albian sedimentary basins, for some without respect to their limits, for others reactiving the faults of the boundaries following the rules of the anisotropic behaviour. In front of the North Pyrenean thrust the displacement is absorbed in the foreland by an intercutaneous wedge. The movement along the North Pyrenean fault during the Eocene is not important. -English summary
