Generalized Schrödinger cat states in cavity QED

Abstract

A method of generating generalized Schrödinger cat states was proposed. The resonant interaction of a high-quality cavity with N two-level atoms driven by a strong classical field was also studied. The results indicate that the open microwave cavities offer the best possibilities for experimental realization insofar as direct illumination of atoms with an external classical field is concerned.
