Abstract

WSS-based ROADM architecture limits local transponder wavelengths to a grouping constraint. 3D-switch-based architecture offers powerful solution without grouping constraint. This paper presents an updated performance and cost analysis comparing WSS-based and 3D-switch-based ROADM architectures.
