N2 - This research covers the empathy of nursing interns, in which it seeks to understand the influence that empathy has on interns, and thus be able to have a good professional training, therefore the objective of the study is to determine empathy in nursing interns of a university located in Metropolitan Lima. It is a quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental study, made up of a total of 112 participants who filled out a survey of sociodemographic data and the Jefferson empathy scale. In their results, 24,1 % (n=27) have high empathy, 55,4 % (n=62) medium and 20,5 % (n=23) low. In conclusion, the lack of empathy in the interns highlights the need for strategies to strengthen the connection with patients, and thus improve overall care.
