Abstract

The present study analyzes the dynamic load capacity of an archaeological complex in Peru through the simulation of discrete events. Tourist flow throughout the day was modelled, considering the different routes and means of transport available, such as cable cars and central stations. The analysis identified critical congestion points in key areas of the route, mainly in the access and exit zones of the complex, which can affect visitor experience and operational efficiency. The results highlight the importance of optimal resource management, including infrastructure and timetables, to improve the distribution of tourist flow. It is recommended to evaluate strategies to optimize the capacity of the transport system and to carry out additional studies to ensure a balance between heritage conservation and tourism growth.
