Abstract

Among the practices established in the teaching of engineering is the project of the last year. The first year project is gaining importance as a means of encouragement and retention of new students. But there is a clear recommendation to cover the intervening years with a similar experience, in order not to lose the benefits achieved with that first experience. In a computer program, design projects have been implemented for each of the first three years. These years of study are common and then the students can opt for mentions in the areas of software engineering, information systems and information technology, so these projects should cover common content. The results have greatly justified the effort to design and implement these activities, both as for the enthusiastic acceptance by the students and the effect on the local and international accreditations obtained.
