Abstract

This research presents a study on the development and characterization of a soft robotic wrist brace specifically designed for children's rehabilitation. The wrist brace has one pneumatic actuator which grants 2 degrees of freedom to the user, enabling the extension of the wrist during rehabilitation. Additionally, the wrist brace, the actuator, and the pneumatic system can be disassembled, facilitating cleaning in the medium and long term. Also, a kinematic and kinetic analysis was applied to the actuator. The results demonstrate that the device has an acceptable performance.
