Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to develop virtual classes, generating difficulties for some colleagues. This was the reason why the authors set out to establish a teaching-learning alternative for the programming course that would serve as a model. It was proposed to develop the course based on the execution of projects. The methodology consisted of observing the following elements: the ability to solve problems, creativity, teamwork, innovation, decision-making, and the execution of a program that solves a need in the environment. The observation was made in the first month and in the last month of the course to compare the results with a statistical parameter that indicates the significance of the results. The sample consisted of 40 students and significant progress was achieved in the elements observed.
