abstract = "The objective of this study was to identify the management of research competencies in a sample of students taking courses related to research in the Industrial Engineering program at a private university. Several models of research competencies were studied and one of them was selected, which integrated in a complementary manner, the main research competencies and the use of technological resources. It is noteworthy to identify the weaknesses presented by students in the management of the most important research competencies. It is necessary to review and rethink the curricular and didactic proposal to ensure an optimal development of these competencies.",
