Abstract

This paper describes the performance comparison of three types of antennas: LPDA, ESA and resistively loaded bow-tie antennas for GPR systems. A pair of these antennas are used in transmission and reception in order to be tested in performance, and isolation between them is evaluated for a portable handed GPR system. The results of the measurements with the three type of antennas using a FMCW GPR system that operates from 400 MHz to 1000 MHz are evaluated by imaging a buried object with a burial depth of 0.4 meters in a test area using clayey soil.
