Abstract

This paper describes a novel frequency tunable rectangular patch antenna based on a technique involving an anisotropic artificial dielectric layer. This technique enables the synthesis of effective permittivity in relation to the geometry dimensions of the antenna (1). The dimensions of this patch antenna have been done considering the traditional guideline that states the length must be have half effective wavelength and the width according to the <<w impedance of the antenna (2).
